One of my favourite things about photographing a destination wedding is that the story begins long before the ceremony. Instead of a single wedding day the entire experience feels like a celebration. Guests are travelling from home, spending time together at the resort, exploring Mexico, and soaking up every bit of the destination. By the time the wedding day arrives there is already a sense of excitement and anticipation that makes everything feel even more meaningful.

The resort is not simply surrounded by tropical scenery, but rather the jungle is part of the experience. There are winding paths, dense greenery, natural textures, and little pockets of quiet throughout the property. Then just beyond the greenery the Caribbean opens up.

After the ceremony we took time to explore the property for portraits.
This is where destination weddings become especially fun for me as the photographer. Rather than using one location we can use the environment to tell a story. Tropical greenery, architectural details, sandy paths, ocean views and the warm light of Mexico all become part of the gallery.
I love giving couples room to simply be during their portraits. The best images often happen when you stop worrying about posing and start enjoying the fact that you are married!
